On an eighth graders last day of school, students practice for graduation ceremonies, clean out their desk and lockers, watch a memory highlight video prepared by a parent volunteer, and celebrate! Eighth grade students are dismissed shortly after 2:30 p.m. for a celebratory final walk-out. Parents are encouraged to make signs and cheer students on as they leave St. Michael School for the last time as a student.
Graduation Attire
Males:
Button up shirt and tie
Dress slacks
Dress shoes
Sport/Suit coats are optional
Females
Dress of appropriate length and modesty
Or, slacks with button up shirt
Sleeveless tops require cardigan or jacket
Dress shoes with appropriate heel height for graceful standing and walking
No shorts or jeans are allowed.
Girls should bring the shoes they are wearing to graduation for last day of school rehearsal.
If shoes are brand new, please put a piece of masking tape on the sole so they do not slide on the tile flooring.
Graduation Ceremonies
Student Arrival: 4:45 p.m. From 4:45-5:25 p.m. last minute preparations are being made and parents have the ability to take individual photos with students, family, and friends in church.
Group Photo: 5:30 p.m. At 5:30 p.m. a group photo for the graduating class will be taken. If you are late, your student will not be featured in this photo. Parents will also have an opportunity to take pictures at this time.
Opening Procession:5:45 p.m. Students are instructed on where to sit and pews will be marked.
Mass:6:00 p.m. The celebration of Mass has been planned by the students. Following Mass will be a presentation of diplomas and awards.
